Cross the highlands
Halló there! Welcome to The Great Norse Run. Widely known as “The Land of Fire and Ice”, Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe and some of the world’s most active volcanoes. We’re going to be passing over these whilst waving goodbye to stress with a ten-day, 209 mile trip of a lifetime.
what happens
The route moves through volcanic desert and black sand before reaching natural hot springs in the interior, where glacial rivers cut across the path and Hofsjökull rises in the distance. The terrain shifts between lava fields, wide plains and geothermal valleys streaked with colour.
Nights alternate between wild camping and simple shelters, from mountain huts to a horse farm and other remote stops along the way.

Nic has qualified to race for the Irish national team, but decided to turn that down to organise and lead collaborative and inclusive adventures in far-flung places around the world. Organised, pragmatic and loves bringing out the best in people.
